“The staff was great and attentive. Food was okay. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg. Nothing to write home about. It was breakfast and filled me up enough. What really surprised me was that most of the chairs at the bar side were looking pretty shabby. The leather was cracking and tearing apart. Another guest and I were laughing a bit thinking can't the Marriott afford a little upkeep?”

Service was incredible. Every employee I encountered. That’s the highlight. A significant one.
The location is decent, good access to BART, convention center. Couple of decent food options, within 2-3 blocks. But, the neighborhood is a little rough. Even having stayed in a lot of large city hotels, this area made me a bit uncomfortable.
Condition of the hotel is…old. Not bad, but everything just seems a little worn out. Furniture, elevator, gym, fixtures. Reasonably clean, if you didn’t look TOO close.
But….the staff was great.”
