“This was an unsuitable hotel to stay in while I was in the UK. The rooms are small. The bathroom is locked and smells of it. I ordered the twins room and got a small one bed. Staff do not know twins rooms, double rooms & single rooms. The restaurant has only one employee. There is only bread for breakfast. It is also scarce and only brings one bread occasionally. We have to keep the dishes on hand until they are brought to the market. The tables are cleared late.”

“Before I am slated : I wasn't expecting 3/5* luxury, I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for... but I still expect the basics...!!! The bathroom was in need of some work, it is a small wet room, you are unable to shower without having the shower curtain wrapped around you. The toilet seat slips, the flush piece was broken, the tap turned on itself when trying to adjust the temperature and the ends of the shower taps were missing. What I can't describe is the smell : raw sewage is the best way to describe it. In the base of the shower is a large plug, you can see the mess beneath the plug hole cover, the cover itself looked as though it may have been replaced at some point but when you shower, the plug hole fills with water and what lurks beneath enters the floor of the shower, a couple of the tiles near the water level were broken too. You step up to the shower from the bedroom, you can see the damp on the base of the wall and door frame where the wood has expanded. The fixed dressing table was approx 1" away from the wall, leaving a sharp edge. We had 2 windows in our room but they were not very well secured. There was a chain on the windows that didn't serve a purpose, one of the windows, the chain just dropped off and the window flung open. The latches on the windows served little purpose and indeed was a security issue. We were based on the first floor, the roof of the bay window below pretty much could be accessed from the entire row of buildings. The room was too hot, I mean really too hot, I attempted to turn the radiator down but found the thermostatic knob was broken, we had to open the windows to relax in the room but then had the issues of the windows banging open or shut. The complimentary breakfast : I never expect much from a Continental Breakfast... and I wasn't disappointed... it wasn't much. I was told breakfast until 11am on reception, I did think that was a late finish, but it was actually 10am, I only found this out when I was locked in on the last day. However, I was able to make instant porridge, toast, 1/2 glass of juice and a glass with what I think was yogurt in it. That said, breakfast on day 2 was a different story : instant porridge, toast but the butter had obviously run out, we had a tub of "I cannot believe it's not butter" to share which was full of toast crumbs, I wouldn't have used this at home. I certainly believed it wasn't butter, I tried it and it was utterly disgusting. The jam jars were indistinguishable, no idea what flavour they were but I heard the waiter scraping it back into the jar behind the partition. If it wasn't for my medication, I wouldn't have had anything at all and waited to find a restaurant or cafe. To end on a high... the staff were lovely and friendly. Would I go back...??? Not at all, I would probably stay away from all Comfort Inns.”
