After losing my residence in a mysterious fire I booked a room for almost $100 and drove almost 2 hours after working a 12 hour shift only to be greeted by tow away signs at the lobby entrance and a man, Chris, who refused to allow me to stay unless I provided a “$50 cas deposit”. Absolutely no thank you. Slumlords.

It was but so many great restaurants. I actually got engaged in a great corner room. Highly recommend

Cost of room was way too much for what you get. Beds so high cant even get in them easy. Bathroom sliding doors sure to pinch toddler fingers. The 1 yr old found a open jolly rancher under the bed by the frame. Was not happy at all. No free breakfast either. Not good for families. First room we had the bed frame was totally broken. The girl who checked us in was great but having to pay an additional price of close to $10 a person for breakfast just really made this hotel a bad experience. Room next door very noisy. Very unhappy.

I travel often; therefore, meeting many people in places like hotel's customer service staffers. I'm a 70's baby and I give and do expect a pleasant hospitality experience when spending my hard, earned, blood, and sweat-currency. I expect kindness, empathy, and compassion. I see far too many companies raising their prices on their products and they're not sending the memo to customer service workers to do their job with fidelity. Be kind! It's not too much to ask for! Long story short, I tried to check in around 3am with my confirmation number. I traveled for a couple of hours and was having surgery in a few hours, so I wanted to check in ASAP. But, patience is essential. So I gave the man about 15 minutes to work on his computer before asking if he located our reservation. He said, no our system is down, so I can't check your confirmation number. I asked what did he recommend we do he said he didn't know he guess to call the software company to see what's going on with the computers. Huh? Excuse me sir, can I give you my credit card and driver's license and you please give us a room; although we had paid reservations? He talked 10 minutes and I went and sat down and prayed. I waited for an additional 5-10 minutes and asked the status. He had a key ready and I was gracious and thanked him. The next day I came downstairs to see if I could empty my trash can. Three people were standing at the desk talking. I just went to a cleaning cart dumped my trash and changed the bag as they looked on. I went over and asked who was the manager and a man said he was. I explained to him what happened last night as if it was a casual conversation. He looked at me with less empathetic expression. I was shocked. I expected him to at least say I am so sorry about your experience and.... Whatever. I would have smiled and said thank you. Unfortunately, I had to reiterate what happened and then he said well, I'm sorry about...I said thank you for apologizing. People must learn empathy, kindness, and compassion goes a long way ESPECIALLY in customer service. After this experience I was offered a small amenity/token, and to me that's a true acknowledgement of my feelings. I am a very grateful. We should also forgive and move on. Reviews: The rooms were nice and clean, so I am grateful for that. I will return! ##justhonest

The room was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful and went above and beyond when I left my dental piece in my room and they found it and called me to let me know they had it. A great stay!

I have always enjoyed staying here. At this hotel you get the feeling that the staff really cares. That makes a difference

The company pays for this not me, but I can say without a doubt I wouldn't spend my money to stay here. It has been under construction for a long time and the rooms that are available are old and the walls are stained. Additionally the water pressure is so weak it feels like you're getting peed on. It used to have an awesome breakfast with made-to-order omelettes, but now that they've moved the breakfast area it's mediocre at best. I gave them two stars because the front desk crew really does do a good job with what they have. Everything about it really seems makeshift and thrown together because of the construction. If it were me paying and not the company I would just stay at the home2 that is about a block away.

Place was in a great location. But unfortunately when I visited it was under renovation. So breakfast was held in a conference room that fits maybe 60 guests. Good selection of food for breakfast. Overall experience was positive and would recommend to anyone who wants to be walking distance from the UofI Stadiums and Fields.

I only spent one night since I was in Champaign for a concert, but the time I did spend in the hotel was pretty good. The rooms are nice and spacious, my room having a couch with a pull out bed, 2 full sized beds, microwave, mini fridge, desk, bathroom and closet. The breakfast had an omelet bar which was sweet. It is nice and close to the State Farm stadium, I would say within walking distance. The only thing that I could really complain about is that our mini fridge was missing a foot which made it wobble.

Very happy we chose Hawthorn Suites in Champaign for our Company Christmas Party. It was awesome. Every one loved the food and the desserts. The banquet room looked amazing and decorated perfectly for our occasion, The lobby area was also decorated with beautiful Christmas trees. Couldn't of asked for more friendly staff.
