For a luxury resort and price , STA was a disappointment lacking je ne sais quoi. Sure, the property is well manicured and adorned with nice furniture and decor, the staff were superb and helpful, the swimming pool clean and fun, but that's it. - The breakfast spread was mediocre at best. Nothing served wowed me. The coffee was terrible. It was not a luxurious breakfast befitting of a Shangrilla property and the prices charged. - Walking an extra 50m in the rain and sun because the other entrance was blocked - Empty mini bar. I've stayed in less expensive and luxurious hotels that stocked up snacks and soft drinks daily. Yes, in Malaysia - Food at all outlets was on 50% discount but not alcoholic beverages. Because of that, we went to town to spend on better food. I did however appreciate the late checkout offer. We had a nice anniversary stay but disappointed that STA fell short of being GREAT. Even on offer, STA was not value for money.

It was an enjoyable staycation for our family as it was my husband's birthday except for the bad weather but we had enjoyed using the pool during the morning before the heavy rain came. Mr Majid from Cafe Tatu is truly a gem for Shangri-La Tanjung Aru as his outstanding service made us so comfortable and happy! He is very friendly, accommodating and professional in his job! We only have praises for him and congrats to STAR for having an exemplary staff like Mr Majid. He made our stay extra special!

This is my 4th time stays at STAR during this PKP, me & my family especially my kids really enjoy to the fullest! swimming pool really amazing! jetski, kayak, mini golf & snorkeling at pulau really good experience, thanks for the promo and amazing package. Hopefully STAR will continue to give special offer to sabahan even after we back to normal soon, in syaa Allah. Some few comments from me: 1. Need to clean the beach from sharp corals so our kids may try swim at the sea or build a sand castle 2. Please consider special price not only for children but also for senior citizen i.e. free or discaunt breakfast / trips to Pulau. 3. Need more indoor games during raining season snooker/pool, chess, table tennis, traditional games i.e. congkak, snakes 4. need bigger dust bin or station 5. offer camping set for stargazing at nights 6. Mini zoo or birds 7. improve mini golf area especially to prevent golf balls fall into the sea, to close holes / big gap under the fencing 8. Jungle or beach tracking activity or finding Tg Aru's Hornbill & Cockatoo challenge, prize for best Hornbill & Cockatoo photo! 9. Mini Library and Sabah history exhibition Thanks!

We really enjoy our stay at your hotel and really want to stay here again. The facilities was so great and many activities for the kids. The staff are friendly and ready to help us. Shang Palace is the best place to eat. Delicious food and friendly staff. Unfortunately, we had bad experience at Cafe TATU where the staff that take our order make her face because we take time to choose the menu. The food also not delicious as our expectation. Overall, we are having fun and our kids don't want to go home.

Front office very helpfull and friendly. I do not wait long for vacant room, they upgraded to available room freely. Cafe crew very helpfull and realize if they have mistake then give some extra to cover up. Marina staff is good. Only receptionist in car lobby need to put more smile. Facilities is awesome. Breakfast menu very amazing. Thank you very much for all kindness. I will come again.
