“We were super excited to stay here due to a positive review from friends of ours, but it ended up being extremely underwhelming. We had a medical issue prior to traveling and were advised it might be better not to travel if possible, when we spoke to the hotel about it they said we should send a doctor's note and they would see what they could do about a refund. We sent the doctors note and a different hotel rep said all they could provide us with was hotel credit, since we're about to have a baby that wasn't really a viable option, so we decided to go. The day after we checked in we received an email that they had been able to cancel our reservation and provide us with a full refund. The day AFTER we got there. We spent a good portion of our day at the front desk and no one could provide an explanation as to what had happened and why we'd been given two different answers. They just said they'd charge our credit card for the room again. That was day 1. The fact that we couldn't swim in the ocean or really be near the beach without the smell of the sargassum being overwhelming also didn't help. Although, they had cleaned up a good portion of it by the time we left. I realize this is just mother nature, but it would've just been nice to have a heads up so we could plan ahead.We hung out a lot by the pool until we found a dead mouse floating in it. That pretty much ended swimming for us on the trip.The food at the buffets and restaurants was pretty average. It didn't change up all that much throughout the week. The best part of our trip was definitely the Spa which we visited on our last day. The staff was friendly enough and tried to be helpful, but a lot of times we were given inaccurate information. Overall, it was really just a mediocre experience and we wouldn't use Iberostar again or recommend it to others.”

Es un lugar hermoso! Todas sus instalaciones son muy agradables y confortables. Me gustó mucho ver tanta vegetación y sobre todo ver patos, garzas y otros animalitos conviviendo con nosotros dentro de las instalaciones. La comida deliciosa, los bufetes muy completos y de buena calidad. Todo lo disfrutamos muchisimo. Agradezco a José Carlos Fraga por su atención, siempre muy profesional y agradable, dandonos recomendaciones y ayudandonos a disfrutar mejor durante nuesta estancia, realmente una persona muy atenta. Esperamos pronto regresar pues estuvimos muy contentos.

Toda nuestra estadía en Iberostar ha sido maravillosa! Hemos disfrutado cada momento, cada comida deliciosa, todas las instalaciones. La experiencia ha sido maravillosa. El personal nos ha proporcionado un excelente servicio, especialmente JC Fraga, quien nos proporcionó pautas muy atinadas para disfrutar de las instalaciones, nos aconsejó para realizar actividades, paseos, etc. una excelente persona, muy atento y agradable.

BEWARE! There are 5 hotels all in one location. Prepare for ALOT of unwanted/unnecessary walking. You can wander the entire area but your colored wristband which you get at check-in only allows you access to things within your hotel parameter. This is the 2nd time I've stayed in an all-inclusive hotel/resort. Stayed here the week of 05/30 - 06/02. It was cloudy all day everyday and scattered showers everyday. Seriously did not see the sun the whole time we were here.Check-in: I was with my family, total group of 9 people (4 adults, 5 teenagers), who all speak Spanish very well so there was no language barrier. Check-in took over an hour (for 4 rooms), which included having to schedule covid tests for everyone, the explanation of our hotel perimeter, where to eat if it's raining or not raining, and then another 20 minutes explaining to us why next time we should book our trip directly through them and not through a travel agency.Food- disappointing. Flavorless. Not much authenticity to feel as if we really were in Mexico.The options were 90% American food. When we checked in, the staff pointed out 4-5 places where to eat on the resort, but we had dinner at the same place every night because when we would ask for directions where else we could eat on the resort they all directed us to the same place.Drinks- were the only best part we really enjoyed. Pool closed everyday at 7pm. Night swimming was not allowed. The pool bars would close at 6pm, if not earlier. The staff didn't seem happy when attending us, which made us feel like we were a bother. It seemed like they were just trying to get the job done so we could leave them alone.Rooms- had some rusty areas in the bathroom but were fairly nice.My sister and her husband had been to this area (Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen) many times and absolutely loved it! They talk about it all the time. And yet they did not enjoy their stay here.

My family had an awesome time at this resort. It was amazing. The staff is always friendly. The room was clean and the cleaning service cleaned it every day, bringing new towels. The food is delicious, fresh, very tasty, and organic!!! Good variety of seafood and freshes. Good quality of alcohol. We went in May 2022 and enjoyed the weather. My 3 years old daughter enjoyed DJ Jonathan from the lobby, playing music. Everything was SO GOOD! We will come in again and again.

Decent place.Friendly staff for the most part. Some rude bartenders which is typical. Food ok. Not great. Lots of pools to swim in. Still using masks in Mexico which is ridiculous. Wouldn't return not because it is really bad but because it wasn't that great and there are so many other resorts to try.

Malísima la atención, todos los que te atienden son maleducados,simplemente te maltratan. Las reglas del lugar van cambiando de acuerdo a la cara del que pregunta. Si queres ir a pasear a la quinta avenida de Playadel Carmen te obligan a contratar un taxi determinado que te cobra 53 dólares por viaje, cuando en realidad el viaje tiene un costo real de 30 dólares como mucho; una estafa. Encontramos 3 cucarachas en las habitaciones, los espejos en los baños están manchados de viejos y abandonados. Tuve que hacer resetear las llaves 5 veces porque se desconfiguraban. Al llegar nadie nos explicó cómo funcionaba el sistema, tuvimos que aprender a base de prueba y error. De los restaurantes especiales, el único que valió la pena es el italiano, los demás, malos en la calidad de comida que ofrecían. Las distancias dentro del complejo son enormes y los carritos de golf que te trasladan demoran, los choferes te tratan mal y siempre hay un pero a la hora de llevarte. De haber sabido esto, no hubiesecontratado, con 3 niños pequeños ir simplemente a desayunar era un calvario, importante la espera del carrito o por la distancia que había que caminar. Esto que comento es lo más grueso, hay mucha cosas negativas más que podría decir. La verdad es que la experiencia no fue para nada buena.

Absolutely amazing place. All the staff are very nice. The golf course is spectacular. It is a deceiving course so don’t be fooled. It is hard even though it is a shorter course. The staff at the course drive by with food and water all the time. The whole resort has fantastic staff and I am having the time of my life here. Highly recommend it!!!

Evítense un mal rato y no se hospeden aquí. Pésima atención por parte del personal mal capacitado. Atención preferencial a extranjeros y mal trato a mexicanos y latinos en general. Los horarios de restaurantes, actividades y atención al cliente son acorde a las costumbres estadounidenses, a pesar de que estamos en Mexico. Si ven que hablas en español te tratan distinto a los que hablan en inglés, algo sumamente ridículo pero así funciona aquí. Los meseros valoran más un dólar que 50 pesos mexicanos. El hotel es sumamente grande y se tienen que pedir carritos de golf para trasladarse, dicho carrito puede tardar hasta 2 horas en llegar o no llegar nunca. Hay muchos hoteles por la zona, en el mismo precio y con mucho mejor servicio y atención. Una lástima que teniendo tanto potencial no cuiden este tipo de cosas que como mexicano deja mucho que desear. No lo recomiendo para nada! Si se pudieran poner 0 estrellas, esa sería mi calificación.

I have to admit. I stayed here when I was 10yrs old with my whole family and had a great time. Stayed there in 2021 parents rented out two Presidential Suites. Not one but TWO! One room was for my sister, her boyfriend and me. The other one was for my parents. This Picture Below shows the balcony covering leaning. It actually snapped and almost fell on us the last day. In return with having outdated presidential suites & almost had timber fall on us they offered my family a deal. Buy a standard room and they will upgrade our room to the presidential suite for free if we came back. (3rd time this year). We came back and they didn’t even give us the updated room. They gave us the outdated presidential suite again. We’re loyal to places we love but will no longer interested in coming back. Hot tub on balcony doesn’t even work. UPDATE YOUR ROOMS & Treat your Loyal People Well!

Amazing beach yoga and massages on the beach! Isis Coach was an amazing instructor and started our mornings off In peace and bliss. She reminded us to remember the peaceful feeling of doing yoga on the beach when we go back to the stresses of our daily lives 😄 the massages I had in the beach were the best I've ever had. I had previously written off getting massages on vacation/at resorts because they were so bad but they gave me a 5 min sample and I was hooked. I think the second massage I booked was even better than the first! If you are looking to get away/relax and pamper your self this is the place to go!

Planeamos este viaje con mucha anticipación, teñimos expectativas muy altas e iberostar nos ya sorprendido, tiene un ambiente súper chévere! Somos chicas con full energía y queríamos pasarla bien, todo el equipo de animación fue increíble siempre alegres, en especial Luci, armi y Monse que son tan lindas y gentiles , la comida es excelente y los shows ni que decirlo, michael Jackson y la fiesta en la playa fueron nuestros favoritos, olvidaba mencionar o foam party también estuvo genial, recomiendo este hotel al full.

Resort apresentável e bem cuidado. Comida razoável, porém tratando-se de um "All Included" peca pela repetição. As bebidas são de fraca qualidade. A comida só melhora nos restaurantes temáticos. Ao almoço a oferta é muito limitada e repetitiva. Tive um problema no check-in devido a erro da central de reservas. No front-desk foram incapazes de resolver a situação... Tive de esperar mais de 48h para que as coisas fossem resolvidas. Há muita desorganização nos serviços. Enfim... Experiência a não repetir.

The best resort I’ve stayed at. The facilities are beautiful! The food is amazing, even at the buffets. A very wide selection, everything delicious. The pool is huge and the beach is amazing. Terrible rooms and beds but the pool and common areas are good. Huge property so it's great to have all the connecting walking paths but they also provide rides in golf carts (sometimes you have to wait a long time and it's not worth it). Private beach is always accessible.Food wasn't that great, even at the a la carte restaurants that require reservations. We had a vow renewal here, and our wedding coordinator was great. The other staff are nice but if the hotel makes mistakes they don't do anything to fix it, you sometimes have to make a request multiple times, and they try to overcharge you so look closely at your bill. I don't think I will ever go back to this place, to be honest.While you're there they try to get you to buy their timeshare which didn't impress me. Lazy river wasn't fully operating so that was also a waste of money.

My husband and I stayed here for our 2 year anniversary. While we did have some issues with our room at first (a leak in the ceiling) they did fix it after a few hours and moved us rooms with a free upgrade. However, the staff here is amazing and made our trip so much more fun. We especially enjoyed chatting with Sergio, at the Star Rock Cafe, we even came back several nights in a row for drinks because we enjoyed it so much! Sergio was very kind and friendly, he was totally open to giving us recommendations for drinks and helping us with our Spanish :) Also the entertainment staff, specifically Charly B and Rodrigo went above and beyond our expectations. They were so kind and always stopped to chat with us when they saw us! We loved seeing them and joking around with them. Honestly the best part of our trip was meeting all these kind staff members, who work so hard to make sure we have a good vacation. We really appreciated them!

The star rock cafe was the best restaurant on the whole resort. I loved the wings and my wife loves the mozzarella sticks. The food and service was very fast. My wife and I loved stopping by and having a drink. Sergio was the best waiter ever and we had an amazing time talking to him. He recommended many drinks and Hugo behind the bar made them to perfection. After we found this restaurant, we came back three nights in a row after dinner for appetizers, drinks, and fun and laughs with Sergio. Also, Charly B. and Rodrigo on the entertainment team were so much fun to spend time with! The vacation was honestly a blast not because of the resort itself, but because of the people we met and the people who work here. They always went out of their way to stop and chat with us and let us know about upcoming events, etc.

Charly was amazing to my family and I. He truly seemed to care about our safety and well-being. He was more than willing to go over and beyond for us just to ensure we had the most enjoyable vacation possible. Wendy especially and the entire activities team were also so friendly and they took a day at the pool to a whole new level of fun. This resort is great for families of all ages, and there’s always something new to do and explore! I highly recommend it especially the Del Mar part of the resort, it seemed to be the most relaxing and friendly environment! But overall I think Charly and Wendy deserve a pay raise, the hardest and most willing workers I’ve ever seen!!

The hotel grounds and rooms were great!The buffet was typical but the reservation restaurants were very good.The pool was amazing and the resort wasn't too crowded to where you couldn't get a great spot at the pool or beach.The only negative comment was that they didn't seem to have enough staff.Maybe it's a COVID thing but I got the feeling it was also mismanagement of staff.There was plenty of some staff (grounds, buffet, room) and not enough staff at check-in, reception, and most importantly shuttle.We would wait up to 30 minutes for a shuttle.The communication at check-in was hurried and since they are sustainable (which is great) they didn't give out maps with important info about where and when to eat.I got the feeling that the resort outside of COVID would have more options for eating.I didn't mind walking 1/2 mile for breakfast, lunch, or dinner but I have a husband with hurt legs so that wasn't fun for him.If the shuttle was more consistent that would have been a non-issue. All in all, the resort was great!I would have liked better communication and shuttle service.

I’m leaving a 4 star review for Brenda the restaurant manager of all the reservations only restaurants at this all inclusive resort. She was SO helpful. She came around and ask us how we were and after our steak meal and she offered a additional reservation to a French restaurant, it was great. She met us at the front desk and the rest of the staff took great care of us. At the end of our meal she came out and checked on us. She was so GREAT at both restaurants. I’m so thankful for her, because she can speak English, that helped out our party that doesn’t speak Spanish! Thank you Brenda! Noah.

Maravilhoso!!! Um complexo de hotéis em meio a natureza e a beira mar, um verdadeiro clube com piscinas, bares, restaurantes. ALL inclusive, serviço de altíssima qualidade, minha família e eu vivemos uma experiência gastronômica muito agradável e cheia de sabor. Todo o staff super prestativo e atencioso. Suítes e áreas comuns sempre limpas e organizadas. Além disso o resort a beira mar com tudo o que é necessário para curtir a praia. Simplesmente maravilhoso!!!!

Beautiful grounds and very nice pools with swim up bars. The food at the buffets are great! The resort is very large so there is a good amount of walking but there are golf carts that pass by every few minutes to help you on your way! There is so much interesting wildlife (swans, flamingos, coatis, etc) around the resort which I haven’t seen too often in other places which was very cool.

The quality of food is excellent. They havefive different restaurants and we enjoyed the food and service at the Mediterranean. We want to thank our host Gloria for being so accommodating and Brenda for her friendly service. The resort is huge and spacious with beautiful landscaping. Our second day and so Far so good 😊

Muy buen hotel, muy buen ambiente y muy bonito toda la vegetacion que esta alrededor. El gym muy completo y excelente servicio del entrenador Kike. La comida del buffet muy rico, pero falta variedad. La playa muy bonita y muy grande. Solo un detalle que los carritos de golf para transporte pasan muy pocos.

Had a great time! The staff were all incredible, the food and drinks were delicious. We saw different animals throught the resort, which was cool. Downfall were guests feeding coati when they were supposed to so at times we had to shew them away, which wasn't a big deal. The activities were a blast! Staff we specifically had a great time with were: Giovanni, Lazaro, Rita, Sergio, Carlos and Axel. From concierge, bartenders, housekeeping, food service, everyone at the pool, and those who provided golf cart rides were wonderful! Our only suggestions would be improving shower heads and the fan was noisy at times in our room. The hotel provids complimentary COVID-19 testing we recieved our results via email within 2 hours. No one approached us regarding time share or pushing us to buy excursions. Overall, I highly recommended and would definitely come back again!

I spent a week in this resort with my family. We had a great time! I especially liked participating in the different sport activities organized by the Star Friends team of the resort. The buffet offered great breakfast and dinner however the speciality restaurants which required extra booking often were lower quality than the regular menu.The pools and the beach were a great source of fun both for me and my younger siblings. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The lunches organized by the pool were always quite tasty.The evening programs offered good entertainment like dance shows, also there were dance lessons for beginners.Overall the resort gave a relaxing, entertaining and fun time for me.

During our stay we had an absolute blast. The entertainment staff is amazing and extremely fun. They get you involved and make your stay even more fun. The food is good. The rooms are good. The room service is on top of things to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are nice sized but the water pressure could be better. We were there right after hurricane Grace had hit, so they were fixing things. The beach is beautiful to walk down.

Iberostar is a great place to stay the staff is great and food is wonderful. The activities were fun played bingo with Giovanni he was very nice. The resort is beautiful and clean. One thing my mom was with us and had a hard time entering the bathtub the handrail was inside the tub and needed to be on the outside to assist her into the shower. The house maids were extremely clean. This was my 3rd time here and will definitely return.Mary J.

I think hotel Iberostar Paraiso del Mar is one of the nicest hotels I had the pleasure to spend my holiday in :) The employees are extremely polite, easy to talk to and very helpful (special thanks to Wendy, Anahí, Axel and Luis for being the best ❤). The whole resort is clean, pretty and despite its huge size it gives you the sense of intimacy. Food was also good and varied. However, the highlight of the show was surly the wild animals that live on the premises of the hotel! I would definitely recommend this beautiful place.

We were super excited to stay here due to a positive review from friends of ours, but it ended up being extremely underwhelming. We had a medical issue prior to traveling and were advised it might be better not to travel if possible, when we spoke to the hotel about it they said we should send a doctor's note and they would see what they could do about a refund. We sent the doctors note and a different hotel rep said all they could provide us with was hotel credit, since we're about to have a baby that wasn't really a viable option, so we decided to go. The day after we checked in we received an email that they had been able to cancel our reservation and provide us with a full refund. The day AFTER we got there. We spent a good portion of our day at the front desk and no one could provide an explanation as to what had happened and why we'd been given two different answers. They just said they'd charge our credit card for the room again. That was day 1. The fact that we couldn't swim in the ocean or really be near the beach without the smell of the sargassum being overwhelming also didn't help. Although, they had cleaned up a good portion of it by the time we left. I realize this is just mother nature, but it would've just been nice to have a heads up so we could plan ahead.We hung out a lot by the pool until we found a dead mouse floating in it. That pretty much ended swimming for us on the trip.The food at the buffets and restaurants was pretty average. It didn't change up all that much throughout the week. The best part of our trip was definitely the Spa which we visited on our last day. The staff was friendly enough and tried to be helpful, but a lot of times we were given inaccurate information. Overall, it was really just a mediocre experience and we wouldn't use Iberostar again or recommend it to others.

The minute you get here you’re welcomed in the most satisfactory way with drinks and smiling faces all around. Best resort I’ve ever been to. The entertainment team was amazing. It’s like a cruise experience on land. They have a small casino, a dance club and the grounds are amazing. The food was excellent. There is some walking but you get used to it and the shuttle service is around if you need it.

There are several things that make this resort a sub par choice. #1 the bugs in the rooms; I traveled with a group and in total we had 3 rooms. 1 of the rooms had cockroaches. We killed them and notified the front desk. The dead cockroaches stayed on the floor for 2 days, housekeeping neglected to clean them up. Another of the rooms had ants in great supply. We asked if anything could be done about the little guys. They assured us that they would spray our rooms. #2 Air conditioning - or lack of. Twice the air conditioning in one of the rooms stopped working. Of course the first was in the night and we woke up with no air movement and in a puddle of sweat. We notified the front desk and they corrected the problem later that day. A couple of days later the air conditioning again stopped working. We notified the front desk and were assured someone would be by later to fix it for us. Despite a second phone call later that evening the air conditioning was never fixed and we embraced the heat and humidity and slept anyway. #3 Customer Service - lack of - following up with the front desk the following day about the air conditioning situation. We stood at the counter for 15+ minutes while phones were answered and conversations in different languages were taking place around us. Finally after talking to 2 front desk clerks and the customer service manager it was suggested that we were probably hot from our days spent in the sun and the air conditioning in our room was working just fine. They gave us a $4 bottle of tequila for our troubles. Ironically none of us drink alcohol. #4 Housekeeping was missed twice. Sometimes I don't mind, but we were on excursions that brought us home dirty and needing towels. And don't forget the ants. We were squishing them and could have used a floor sweep and mop. #5 The Beach, just an FYI for other travelers - the beach is a fair walk from the lobby and is overrun with little creatures called Coati. They are not shy at all and will climb onto the table beside you or under your chair to steal food. Like I am talking dozens of these guys every were, climbing in and out of the garbage cans. Kinda cute, mostly not. The staff don't seem to be concerned at all, but it definitely takes away from the beach experience.

This is really nice place to get away. Family or honeymoon or just a chill out. Lots of nice pools. Lazy river pretty nice. Restaurants and bars. All buffets overall very good. Variety of foods. Of course it's an awesome place but I would not recommend to lock yourself up in a resort: go to visit the real Mexico! Food is better in some restaurant (Japanese was my favourite). All of the members of the staff are very nice. Rooms are perfectly clean. The beach isn't the best one, there were many seaweeds, so I often preferred the pool. Drinks are good too and I enjoyed walking around to the coffee place, the crepes and the tacos place
